Getting here:
Located on Monkey Forest Road. The entrance is adjacent to the trendy Green House Restaurant. Alternatively, it is also accessible from Jalan Bisma which runs parallel to Monkey Forest Road.

Description:
Pertiwi Resort & Spa is probably one of the best medium-end resort in Ubud. The architecture and landscaping is flawless at best. In fact, I noticed the meticulous attention taken by the resort's staff to pick fresh flowers every morning within the garden and spread them throughout the resort. Right in the middle of the resort compound, an extensive and lush Balinese garden is landscaped painstakingly within the Villa units.

The resort boasts two swimming pools (for photos, see Pool #1 and Pool#2), a rather rarity for medium-end property like this. There are 12 Villa units beautifully set in the tropical garden, all with ultimate private settings and a plunge pool to boot! The rest are Bungalow units which come with more down-to-earth facilities and divided into Deluxe, Superior or Standard rooms. Each room, nonetheless, comes with its own open-air verandah, which is fabulous. Although one's privacy could be slightly compromised with the sidewalks that zigzag nearby, especially if you room is on the ground floor.

Pertiwi Resort & Spa has 2 in-house restaurants although lately it is concentrating more on the extravagant fusion fares offer by the swanky resort-affiliated Green House Restaurant. For spa lovers, the resort offers The Tropical Spa which boasts its own lush greenery and traditional Balinese home settings.

My verdict:
Fabulous resort to stay but probably not for the budget conscious The cheapest room here is about Rp 600.000 ($60) for a Standard room. For slightly lower room rates, check out Pertiwi's sister resort of Putri Ayu Cottages at Jalan Bisma.
