Getting here:
Located on Jalan Nusa Dua Selatan adjacent to Bali Golf and Country Club. If you are from Kuta or Ngurah Rai International Airport, get on Jalan Bypass Ngurah Rai toward Nusa Dua, take a right turn into Jalan Srikandi which then  you will see a roundabout. Straight ahead is Jalan Nusa Dua Selatan and the resort on the right hand side. The best way is to arrive by local taxis.

Description:
After two nights staying at Mangrove Beach Sanctuary Villa and Putri Ayu Cottages and had the ultimate Balinese resort experience of my life, Swiss Belhotel Bali Aga looks somewhat pedestrian. Don't get me wrong though, the resort's swimming pool is die for!

The resort has about 60 rooms in total - Villas, Suites, Pool Access units and Deluxe. I had mine in a Deluxe Garden View room. The open air lobby is spacious but too international for my taste. My deluxe room was rather standard - spacious timber strip floor, separate shower and toilet cubicles, and a bath tub as well.

I had my late dinner at Telaga Waja restaurant which faces the pool. The food served was good and the price was reasonable. The restaurant staff were friendly just as you would expect. Although my morning breakfast at the same restaurant was handled with less attention by different staff. Words had it that Balinese service industry in major resorts have a good mixture of true locals (exemplary of their servitude and smiles) and Javanese immigrants who may do the opposite.

Nonetheless, the resort gave me a complimentary 15-minutes Balinese massage. It was a good one after a long day of walking in Ubud, Kintamani and Besakih. For real spa goers, the resort offers Giri Loka Spa located right by the swimming pool.

A gentle fact for the would-be hotel guests - this resort is not located on Nusa Dua Beach, contrary to what the brochure photos tell you. It is not entirely misleading though. The hotel owns a private beach on Nusa Dua which is accessible by shuttle van. Earliest departure is at 0800hrs and earliest return is at 1000hrs. There is a beach bar serving light refreshments while you frolic in Balinese sun.

My verdict:
Highly recommended. Don't worry so much about the lack of beach because I think the resort's swimming pool is amazing enough for a quick tan.
